Fitness Tests Setting specific and realistic long term (1 year) and short term (1 month) goals for certain personal tests can be a motivating factor in maintaining progress. i.e. setting a specific time for 2000m by a certain date. It would be a good idea to set aside one day every 2 months for fitness testing and keep a log (training log) of your results -time, distance and how you felt during the test. Several tests can be performed such as the 1 1/2 mile run test, sit up test, press up test. The most common test for rowing is the 2000m test, where you try to obtain the quickest time for 2000m, this can be between 5-13minutes depending on many factors.(* please remember that other rowing machine times are not comparable as the WaterRower has its unique water resistance mechanism, where other rowing machines are air resistance). Other standard rowing tests are the 5000m and 10 000m test. If none of these appeal to you then make up one for yourself this can be a timed or distance piece.
